In Island County, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) serves the electric needs of more than 34,000 customers on Whidbey Island. PSE has been serving island residents since 1925.
In addition to PSE’s 329 miles of overhead distribution lines, 342 miles of underground distribution lines, 126 miles of high-voltage transmission lines, and 10 substations, PSE is proud to be making a number of future investments on the island. These investments include a multi-year vegetation initiative to materially improve service reliability, the installation of 15,000 feet of new tree wire, and plans to build a new substation near Langley in 2010.
In addition to providing electric service, PSE currently offers incentives to make homes and businesses more energy efficient, provides low-income assistance, and supports a variety of community programs.
From our Whidbey Island Customer Service Offices, we look forward to serving customers on the island for years to come.
Whidbey Island residents have saved more than 650,000 kWh, or enough energy to power about 60 homes, preventing more than 730,000 pounds of carbon dioxide from being released into the environment.
