Puget Sound Energy has served the electric needs of customers in Jefferson County for nearly 90 years. From our new Customer Service Office in downtown Port Townsend, we look forward to serving customers in the county for decades to come.

Today, PSE serves 17,400 customers in the county and continues to invest in electric-system upgrades and expansions to its eight substations, including a new $5 million substation in Chimacum that came online in May 2008, 570 miles of neighborhood distribution lines, and 40 miles of high-voltage transmission lines.

Jefferson County residents have prevented over 270,000 pounds of carbon dioxide from being released into the environment over the past four years by taking advantage of PSE’s energy efficiency programs.

Over the next few years, PSE plans to work on seven major electric-system projects in the county, estimated at $3.9 million, including a new three-mile underground feeder along Paradise Bay Road which will bring a third feeder into Port Ludlow, the replacement of five miles of old line with new state-of-the-art tree wire along Oak Bay Road, and the installation of several new regulators and switches.

In addition to providing electric service, PSE currently offers incentives to make homes and businesses more energy efficient, provides low-income assistance, and supports a variety of community programs.
