Natural Gas: Storage
Most of the natural gas Pacific Northwest consumers use moves straight from gas wells to homes and businesses via a series of pipelines, compressor stations, gas mains, and other facilities. Puget Sound Energy manages a strategically diversified portfolio of purchased natural gas supplies to meet customers’ energy needs. PSE, however, also holds down customers' energy costs by buying significant amounts of natural gas during the lower-priced summer months, storing it in large underground reservoirs, and then tapping the stored reserves in winter when customer natural gas usage is highest.
