Energy Resource Planning: PSE's Integrated Resource Plan
PSE's 2007 Integrated Resource Plan
More energy efficiency, more renewables and the balance met with clean burning natural gas
Puget Sound Energy serves more than half of the people who live in Washington state. Completed in May 2007, our latest Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) seeks to balance the growing energy needs of our dynamic region with concerns about the environmental impacts of electric power generation and natural gas supply acquisition. Further it seeks to assess the risks and costs of different alternatives and to weigh them against different ways the future may develop. Our goal is to identify the lowest reasonable cost resource strategy that will meet our customers' needs.
The planning process to develop PSE’s 2009 IRP is underway. For details about this process, click on the 2009 IRP Advisory Group link at left. PSE will file its next resource plan with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission in May 2009.
