Hydropower Benefits Update: Joint statement
Restoring the BPA residential exchange credit
We're fighting for our customers' rights
The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) has notified Avista, Pacific Power, Puget Sound Energy and other Northwest investor-owned utilities that a monthly residential and small-farm customer credit will be suspended. BPA is responding to a decision by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which tossed out an existing settlement on the same issue. That settlement – a fair agreement that was ineffect for seven years – spelled out how BPA would share the public benefits of low-cost federal hydropower as required by federal law.
